The story of Rota Zero doesn’t begin with a rental company. It begins with a passion: Hélio Ribeiro’s passion for off-road trails, engines, mountains, and the freedom to travel without a set destination. Before there was a fleet, there was a workshop—RP Auto—where dreams on wheels came to life.
Specializing in 4x4 vehicles and custom conversions, RP Auto has become a gathering place for adventurers, campers, and off-road enthusiasts. Hélio, with his technical expertise and restless spirit, viewed every project as a new challenge, often with a twinkle in his eye that seemed to say, “What if we took this even further?”
And that’s exactly what happened. Over time, it wasn’t just customers asking for modifications to their SUVs and vans. Different requests began to come in: “Can you turn my car into a campervan?” “What if I want to rent a vehicle that’s already set up for camping?” Those questions sparked the idea for something bigger.
The first motorhome, the family, and the discovery of the nomadic lifestyle
The next step came naturally. Hélio bought his first motorhome, but not as a business venture: he did it to live, with his family, the experience that so many customers were seeking. Back roads, campgrounds, nights by the beach or deep in the mountains—each trip became living proof that traveling this way changed everything.
The comfort of having your home with you, the freedom of not having to make any reservations, the children’s delight at every unexpected stop. The motorhome wasn’t just a means of transportation; it was a way of life. And the more I lived that experience, the more it made sense to share it.
